Kits Have Arrived!

Well I think it's time for a little update...

Our clothes have arrived!! So look for enCompass Racing out on the road!!

Hanging the newly laundered kits out to dry

A big thank you goes out to our sponsors: FOCUS Bikes, Mix 1 recovery, Schwalbe tires and Full Cycle for making enCompass Racing possible!!

This weekend there are several local races we plan on contesting including a junior stage race and the unforgiving dirt hill of the Koppenburg. And the 7-11 Velodrome in Colorado Springs is opening this Sunday for the season, so enCompass is getting super excited to stretch the track legs and see how amazing the FOCUS Pista handles the banking!!

Here is a parting shot we took from our ride today...Seriously loving springtime in Colorado!

Mountain States Cup #1 - Cheyenne Canyon

This past weekend was the first race of the Mountain States Cup series down in Colorado Springs.

Zane: Cat. 1 15-18 Junior Men, 1st
Tim: Cat. 1 40-49 Men, 3rd

4/10/11 Cross Country
Zane: Cat. 1 15-18 Junior Men, 1st
Tim: Cat. 1 40-49 Men, 1st

Tim's Race Report:
Cheyenne Mountain Explosion...what a mountain bike race! This course dished out a little bit of everything: sustained climb, tight singletrack in the trees, big step ups and downs, rock gardens, hairpins and fast descents. The technicality of this course was a challenge for me, but after 4 laps my lines were getting dialed and I was clearing stuff that I didn't on lap 1. Threee of us "cat and moused" with each other for 2 laps, and finally I was able to drop them on the last lap. The course and the riders made this race a lot of fun and the bike rode perfectly! The first race was good to get "under my belt" as I'm beginning to feel more comfortable with my new Focus 29'er, and it felt good to get the win on a hard but good day.

Zane's Race Report:
This weekend's Mountain States Cup race down in Colorado Springs was one of the most technical races that I have ever seen. On Saturday after the time trail my dad, Brady and Russ Kappius, and I rode the cross-country course, which turned out to be a very good choice. It was really good to finally get that first race out of the way. Once that gun went off I just went to the front and rode my own race. On the first lap there was 3 of us, then someone crashed in front of me and I just went around him and didn’t look back.
