Tim's Race Report:
Cheyenne Mountain Explosion...what a mountain bike race! This course dished out a little bit of everything: sustained climb, tight singletrack in the trees, big step ups and downs, rock gardens, hairpins and fast descents. The technicality of this course was a challenge for me, but after 4 laps my lines were getting dialed and I was clearing stuff that I didn't on lap 1. Threee of us "cat and moused" with each other for 2 laps, and finally I was able to drop them on the last lap. The course and the riders made this race a lot of fun and the bike rode perfectly! The first race was good to get "under my belt" as I'm beginning to feel more comfortable with my new Focus 29'er, and it felt good to get the win on a hard but good day.

Zane's Race Report:
This weekend's Mountain States Cup race down in Colorado Springs was one of the most technical races that I have ever seen. On Saturday after the time trail my dad, Brady and Russ Kappius, and I rode the cross-country course, which turned out to be a very good choice. It was really good to finally get that first race out of the way. Once that gun went off I just went to the front and rode my own race. On the first lap there was 3 of us, then someone crashed in front of me and I just went around him and didn’t look back.
